Eligibility for Need-based aid:
-
Certain funds require student’s to have “need”. Calculated need is determned by
taking student Cost of Attendance and subtracting a student EFC (expected
family contribution as determined by the Department of Education on the
FAFSA). Students who are not eligible for “need-based” aid may qualify
for other types of funding.
Satisfactory Academic Progress:
-
The Department of Education requires that schools monitors a student’s progress
towards completion of their degree. If students are not meeting Financial Aid
Academic Progress requirementsthey may become ineligible for future
aid. Students have the option to request an
appeal form to reinstate financial aid.
Enrollment Status:
-
Students must be enrolled at least half time in an eligible, degree-seeking
program for most aid programs. Grants are awarded based on full time enrollment
at Texas Tech University (12 hours or more). If a student is enrolled less than
full time, Financial Aid may adjust awarded grant amounts upon confirmation of
enrollment status. Please contact a
finaid.advisor@ttu.edu to request grant adjustments.
Return of Title IV Funds- Withdrawal:
-
For a student who withdraws during a semester, SFA must complete a R2T4
worksheet to determine if a portion of the student’s Title IV aid must be
returned to the Federal programs, or if the student is due a post withdrawal
disbursement. The R2T4 worksheet is completed via the Department of Education’s
R2T4 website. If the website application is unavailable, the worksheet it
completed and calculated manually.
