Applying for Financial Aid

  • Students may apply for financial aid at any time, however we have the following priority dates to ensure maximum grant eligibility:
      • Fall       April 15th
      • Spring   October 1st
      • Summer March 1st
  • To apply for federal, state, and institutional aid, the student (and parent) should request a PIN number to sign the FAFSA electronically and expedite processing.
  • Student (and parent) will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA), using prior year income information.
  • Student should include Texas Tech University School Code (003644) on the FAFSA.
  • Texas Tech University may request additional documents once we receive the completed FAFSA.
  • Texas Tech School Code (003644) should be included on the FAFSA
  • Students may use the Estimated Cost of Attendance on the RaiderAid Financial Plan Summary to evaluate their funding options. This cost includes an estimate of the following expenses ( based on full time enrollment, student’s residency status, and classification)
      • Tuition and fees
      • Room and board
      • Books and supplies
      • Travel expense
      • Miscellaneous expenses
