Eligibility Requirements Cont'd...

Withdrawals Prior to 60% Completion Point:

  • If the student withdraws prior to the 60% completion point, the R2T4 calculation will determine the amount of funds which must be returned to the programs. The student will be responsible for this amount and must repay these funds to the university before they will be allowed to register for classes or receive a transcript from the university. Before withdrawing from the university, the student that has received financial aid should come by SFA. At that time, we will be able to tell them exactly how much they will owe back.

Citizenship:

  • Federal aid is restricted to U.S. citizens and eligible permanent residents. International students who are unable to submit a FAFSA, may contact the International Cultural Center for additional funding options.

Drug or Fraud convictions:

  • By federal law, students convicted of drug offenses committed while receiving Title IV federal financial aid may be ineligible for future aid for one or more years from the date of conviction. For additional information on this requirement call a federal representative at (800) 433-3243.
